As CheerSurge strives to deliver an instructional program that is individualized to the abilities/wishes of each camper, it is critically important that each cheerleader is evaluated resulting in an individualized cheer plan. It should be noted that the opinions/wishes of the camper and parent will be honored to the highest extent. A senior high school camper planning to try out for a collegiate position may wish to approach camp with more rigor than a middle school camper who wishes to have a camp experience with an equal mix of instruction and summer fun. Competitive level cheerleaders may want even more intensive sessions! At all times, campers should feel comfortable discussing their individual instruction needs and preferences with CheerSurge staff.
At The Gym:
Our daily gym sessions are held at Top Gun Orlando. Stations are set up so that each camper can focus on what they need to learn that week. Some of the stations include, but are not limited to:
Tumbling:
Cheerleaders that wish to improve their tumbling abilities have the opportunity to do so at the tumbling station. Gymnastic instructors will address the goals of cheerleaders at various skill levels.
Tryout Technique (If Desired):
Cheerleaders will receive instruction in the art of mastering tryouts. Feedback will be given to cheerleaders with plenty of time for tweaking and tryout "do-overs!"
Stunting:
Because the focus of CheerSurge Camps is on the improvement of individual skills rather than squad
CheerUp:
The CheerUp session held each morning before class begins is designed to be a high energy combination of warm-up/dance/cheer/exercise movements guaranteed to get cheerleaders pumped up for an exciting day.
On the first afternoon of camp, instructors meet with each individual camper, getting to know them, their current skill level, and their goals for camp.
At the end of camp, parents are invited to speak with the instructors about their child's progress, and discuss recommendations for further training back home. If they wish, they can even see their camper show off what they've learned!
skills, stunting will be addressed from an individual perspective only. CheerSurge staff will work with individual cheerleaders to improve their stunting techniques based on individual stunting roles. New transitions will be taught and routine transitions critiqued for improvement.
